Obscenity case against Bollywood star Akshay Kumar

MUMBAI : Bollywood star Akshay Kumar and his wife have been accused of committing an obscene act after she unbuttoned his jeans during a fashion show.

Kumar, a brand ambassador for Levi's "Unbuttoned" range, was strutting down the catwalk at last week's Lakme Fashion Week when he stopped in front of his wife, Twinkle Khanna, who was seated in the audience, and asked her to undo his trousers.
This brought cheers and roars from the crowd but also left many shocked.
Mumbai police said they acted after a complaint was lodged against Kumar, his wife, the designer as well as the organisers of the show, by a social campaigner who called the performance "vulgar and indecent".
India's obscenity laws are punishable by a maximum of two years' imprisonment and a fine of 2,000 rupees (US$39).
The "Padmashri" actor has apologised for the incident.
